Sam Dan A.J. (Joey) DuPuis
A.J. (Joey) DuPuis is a Third Degree Black Belt with more than 11 years experience in the martial arts. His training in American Tang Soo Do began in January 1996 under Grandmaster Johnny Thompson and he obtained the rank of Black Belt in December 2000.
He trained in Aikido for a short time under the exceptional instructor, Scott Dillon. Sam Dan DuPuis was certified as a Senior Instructor in 2001, promoted to Second Degree on 7 December 2002, and Third Degree at the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame Annual Celebration on 2 August 2008.
Sam Dan DuPuis serves as the Examining Director for the Tang Soo Do Karate Association (TKA), headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. As such, he ensures members are assigned appropriate numbers at each level in their quest. He proctors most testing sessions and recommends pass/fail on each student.
He is a Chief Master Sergeant in the US Air Force with over 23 years of active service. Sam Dan DuPuis serves as the District of Columbia State Director for the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
He is the Ways & Means Committee Chairman for the National Capital Region Chiefs’ Group. Sam Dan DuPuis also serves as the webmaster and photographer for the Foreign Joint Services Non-Commissioned Officers Association. Sam Dan DuPuis is a certified NAUI Divemaster, CPR & AED instructor with the Military Training Network, and a instructor in Self-Aid & Buddy Care for his military unit.
