Master Wood has been training for over 27 years in the Martial Arts earning and promoting the following:

 

 

* Founder, President and Head Instructor of YI-DAN CHA GI Martial Arts Center, Inc. located in

    North  Tonawanda, New York since it’s inception in 1994.

* 8th DAN Black Belt in YI-DAN CHA GI Karate, 2008

* Awarded Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors, “Excellence in Teaching The Martial Arts”, 2008

* Awarded, by The United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, “Founder” for the style

    YI-DAN CHA GI Karate, 2006

* 7th DAN Black Belt in YI-DAN CHA GI Karate in the year, 2006

* 6th DAN Black Belt in Tang Soo Do in the year, 2004.

* 5th DAN Black Belt in Chun Kuk Do in the year, 2000.

* New York State Director for The International Martial Arts Council of America, 2006

* New York State Director for The Tactical Application Association, 2006

* Master Defensive Tactics Instructor, 2006

* Advanced Certified Defensive Tactics Instructor, 2005

* Certified Defensive Tactics Instructor, 2004

* Certified MEB expandable baton, 2005

* Awarded the Certified Professional Martial Artist status from Master Chuck Norris (founder of the United                        Fighting Arts Federation) in 1994.

* Awarded The United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame “School of The Year”, 2005

* Inducted into the U.S.A. International Black Belt Hall of Fame, 2004

* Inducted into The United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as “Master”, 2003.

* Co-Founded of The Defend And Survive Program, Inc. a Non-Profit organization, 2001. This program is a violence prevention, character development course promoting awareness, self-discipline, respect for others, community building and Asset-Building. Master Wood’s background in the Martial Arts and his desire to reach as many of our youth as possible has been the driving force behind The Defend And Survive Program, Inc. that has been Nationally recognized. The Defend And Survive Program, Inc. is mandatory for 6th   and  7th Grade middle school students in several districts of Western New York.

* New York State Senator Mary Lou Rath introduced a resolution on Wood's behalf in Albany, NY.  The resolution was passed by the state for his standard of excellence in all his endeavors and his community involvement in July 2004.

* Master Wood has organized, promoted and ran Kick-A-Thon fundraisers for such organizations as The Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Kick Drugs Out Of America Program  (Jump Start), The American Red Cross and The Defend And Survive Program, Inc. raising thousands of dollars for these organizations through his efforts.
